Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in industrial power systems and mission-critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical power distribution, control systems, and related equipment that enable reliable power delivery in high-availability environments. This role supports projects spanning data centers, utilities, healthcare, industrial facilities, energy infrastructure, and other environments where power reliability and efficiency are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering tasks for design, development, and deployment of industrial power systems including low- and medium-voltage distribution.

  • Perform power system analysis including load calculations, short-circuit studies, coordination studies, grounding and bonding design, and arc flash assessments.

  • Specify and select electrical equipment such as switchgear, switchboards, transformers, protection relays, generators, UPS systems, and motor control centers.

  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications in compliance with applicable codes (NEC, ANSI/IEEE) and industry standards.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, controls engineers, field service teams, and manufacturing or construction partners throughout project lifecycle.

  • Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of power systems.

  • Analyze and improve electrical system performance, reliability, and maintainability in industrial and mission-critical applications.

  • Ensure designs meet customer requirements, operational goals, safety standards, and project schedules.

  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and client presentations as needed.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in power distribution, resilience engineering, and high-availability systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical power engineering, industrial power systems, utility distribution, or mission-critical infrastructure design.

  • Proficiency in power system modeling and analysis tools such as ETAP, SKM, or equivalent.

  • Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, codes, standards, and industrial electrical design principles.

  • Experience with designing or specifying power equipment including switchgear, transformers, protective devices, and emergency power systems.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

  • Experience working on data center, utilities, industrial plant, or healthcare electrical infrastructure projects.

  • Familiarity with control systems, SCADA, or automation interfaces in industrial electrical environments.

  • Experience with project lifecycle support from conceptual design through commissioning and field support.

  • Knowledge of reliability engineering practices and resilience strategies for critical infrastructure.

Work Environment

This position may involve a mix of office-based design work and field support at manufacturing sites, project installations, or commissioning locations. Travel to client sites or project locations may be required.
