Job Description

HR Consulting Solutions, LLC is a national executive search firm that has been retained by Harper Construction to conduct a search for a full time Concrete Finisher to work alongside their team in Paducah, KY.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, sidewalks, curbs, and roadways.
  • Set concrete forms to required pitch and depth, ensuring proper alignment.
  • Spread, level, and shape concrete using hand tools such as floats, trowels, and screeds.
  • Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete.
  • Monitor the effects of weather and temperature on concrete and implement appropriate protection and curing methods.
  • Use straightedges to cut expansion joints in concrete.
  • Repair rough or defective areas and apply finishing techniques as necessary.
  • Work with rebar, wire mesh, and other reinforcement materials.
  • Operate power tools and machinery including power trowels and concrete saws.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and crew members to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite at the end of each day.
  • Follow safety guidelines and participate in all crew meetings and job briefings.
  • Other duties, tasks, and responsibilities that may be assigned at any time.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Minimum of 3 years of concrete finishing experience in commercial or roadway construction.
  • Proven ability to achieve a smooth, level finish on a variety of surfaces.
  • Experience setting forms, tying rebar, grading, and placing concrete.
  • Strong working knowledge of finishing tools and equipment.
  • Understanding of concrete curing methods and materials.
  • Able to read a tape measurer.
  • Capable of interpreting blueprints and job specifications is a strong plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Effective communication skills and team player mentality.
  • Able to work efficiently under tight deadlines and in varying weather conditions.
REQUIRED LICENSES & OTHER MISCELLANEOUS NECESSITIES
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Availability to work extended hours or weekends as project needs dictate.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions and seasonal temperatures.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Comfortable kneeling, bending, walking, standing, and using hand tools for extended periods.
  • Able to climb ladders and tolerate working at various heights.
