Pay Range: $57,576 up to $102,384 based on years of certified experience and level of education

Schedule: M-F School Days 7:45am to 3:30pm; Summers are Optional and paid extra.

Responsibilities:

Elwyn seeks a School Psychologist for the Elwyn Education Division, Davidson School to provide school-based psychological services to Davidson School students in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) regulations. The school psychologist conducts psychological and academic assessments, assesses student emotional and behavioral needs, and writes re-evaluation reports, including Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA). This individual also provides direct support and interventions to students, as well as indirect support through consultation with teachers, families, and other school professionals, promoting best practices school-wide.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Consult with teachers, related service providers, school administrators, parents/families, and outpatient providers (where indicated) regarding individualized academic and behavioral interventions of students
  • Lead re-evaluation meetings with the program teams to determine eligibility for continued special education
  • Provide formal evaluation of students for academic, psychological, cognitive, and social-emotional/behavior concerns to inform the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team of the strengths and needs of the student and to support the need for continued special education
  • Approve all re-evaluations (RR) for content, comprehensiveness, appropriate recommendations, and accuracy 
  • Participate in Pre-IEP and IEP meetings by identifying skill deficits of student and assisting the IEP team in the development of goals
  • Perform data collection and analysis for FBA, Behavioral Support Plans (BSP), and progress monitoring to identify, track, and monitor progress in areas of behavioral concern
  • Complete all documentation related to IEP development, Progress Monitoring and data collection, RR, BSP, School-Wide Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports (SWPBIS), and Extended School Year (ESY) Program, as required by PDE regulations and sending-district’s policy and funding requirements
  • Coordinate PDE-established timeline protocol related to all required documentation for the RR process by collecting and interpreting pertinent information from the parent/family, teacher and related service providers
  • Present interpretation of RR results to IEP team (teacher, family, related service providers, school district)
  • Support school administrators/staff in the development and implementation of SWPBIS through consultation with staff to ensure fidelity to the SWPBIS process 
  • Participate in all PDE-required/program-required professional development, including but not limited to self-evaluative and program-established assessment tools and processes 
  • Provide materials, training, and staff in-service on varied topics, including but not limited to RR/IEP process, data collection, behavioral interventions, instructional strategies, classroom management, etc.
  • Perform Safety Care Behavioral Crisis Prevention and Management (Safety Care), as needed, using agency-trained protocols
  • Adhere to laws, policies, procedures, ethical standards, and best practices of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP)
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) School Psychologist (Education Specialist) certification
  • Experience working with students (ages 3-21 years) in Autism Support, Emotional Support, and Life Skills Support programs 
  • Newly certified graduates considered
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current cognitive, adaptive, diagnostic, academic, and social-emotional/behavioral assessments
  • Knowledge of data collection and analysis and graphing methods
  • Demonstrated excellence in report-writing skills and verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to consult with staff in areas including but not limited to behavioral interventions, instructional support, prevention and intervention strategies, crisis response, etc. for a diverse student population
  • Non-profit human service experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
  • Must be able to perform CPR using agency-trained protocols
  • Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for academics and behavior
  • Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; report-writer experience preferred
  • Experience using/knowledge of electronic student and/or health records preferred
