Risk Management Safety Officer - We are currently seeking a Risk Management Safety Officer to join our team. This essential administrative role is responsible for promoting and sustaining a safe, compliant, and risk-aware environment throughout the clinic. As the Clinics Safety Officer, you will ensure all safety, regulatory, and quality standards are implemented, monitored, and continuously evaluated. The Risk Management Safety Officer will lead clinic-wide initiatives to identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to patient care, operations, safety, and privacy. This includes overseeing insurance claims, managing external risk reporting, maintaining privacy and compliance programs, and driving a culture of proactive risk management and continuous improvement. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and collaborates with the Medical Director and department leaders to integrate risk, safety, and quality strategies across all clinic functions. Key Responsibilities Risk Management Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive risk management policies and frameworks. Identify and assess clinical, operational, and administrative risks across the organization. Maintain a system for documenting, analyzing, and addressing reported incidents and near-misses. Conduct regular risk audits and coordinate risk mitigation plans with department heads. Promote a clinic-wide culture of safety, accountability, and compliance through training and communication. Monitor changing regulations and ensure organizational practices align with updated standards. Safety Officer Duties Serve as the designated Clinic Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with all workplace health and safety laws and regulations. Conduct regular facility inspections to identify hazards and ensure safety protocols are followed. Lead the clinics Fire Safety, Emergency Preparedness, and Disaster Response initiatives. Develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety training programs for all staff. Investigate safety incidents and lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans. Insurance, Claims and Financial Oversight Coordinate insurance coverage needs with the CEO and Medical Director. Maintain accurate documentation and oversee the management of claims and incidents. Provide recommendations for risk financing strategies and insurance renewals. Prepare risk-related financial reports and assist with budgeting for risk mitigation resources. Governance, Policy, and Compliance Regularly report to the CEO and Medical Director on organizational risk status and emerging issues. Ensure privacy practices are in accordance with HIPAA and other applicable standards. Maintain and regularly update clinic governance manuals and policies. Represent the clinic in audits, inspections, and in communication with regulatory bodies or insurers. Support policy development and ensure alignment with occupational health and safety regulations. Qualifications and Skills Associates Degree required; Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in healthcare risk management or safety leadership. Proven knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient safety standards, infection control protocols, and insurance processes. Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and risk management software tools. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and lead multidisciplinary teams. Learning and Development Requirements Completion of formal clinic orientation. Attendance at required training, including: Risk Management Training Fire and Evacuation Safety Infection Prevention and Control HIPAA and Privacy Compliance Schedule and Work Hours This is a full-time, exempt position. Typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend or after-hours responsibilities during emergency or risk situations. Compensation Compensation for the Risk Management Safety Officer position is competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and market standards.
