Description:

Newsmax Media, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Assistant to support the daily operations of our live television broadcasts in New York City. Core Responsibilities Include:

• Provide daily support to producers, anchors, and show teams during live and pre-recorded broadcasts
• Attend editorial and production meetings to assist with planning and execution of show content
• Format, edit, and distribute scripts and rundown sheets to all involved departments
• Handle travel bookings and logistical arrangements for production staff, talent, and guests
• Draft and circulate production schedules and call sheets
• Coordinate and assist on-air guests with materials, timing, and backstage logistics
• Run various errands between control rooms, studios, and other departments to support show production
• Monitor show timing in real time and communicate with the control room to ensure smooth programming transitions
• Prepare and cue pre-recorded video content for use in live broadcasts
• Assist editors with shot lists, logging footage, and supporting post-production documentation
• Organize and manage production assets such as scripts, rundowns, and recorded segments
• Perform additional production-related duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• Previous newsroom or live production experience (internships or prior PA roles highly regarded)
• Strong interest in current news, political reporting, and cable television production
• Excellent attention to detail with strong writing, editing, and organizational abilities
• Comfortable working in high-pressure environments and meeting tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with video editing tools like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or Avid is a plus
• Knowledge of HD cameras or other broadcast production gear is a bonus
• Professional presentation and strong work ethic
• Flexible schedule—must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed by breaking news
