The CalSTRS Disability & Survivor Benefits Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Pension Program Manager II.
The Disability and Survivor Benefits (DaSB) Division is responsible for administering two of CalSTRS’ core benefits. Disability Services provides benefits to CalSTRS members who, due to a disability, are unable to perform their usual duties. The Survivor Benefits Unit supports our members and their beneficiaries when they need CalSTRS the most, providing financial stability for their loved ones.
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director (Pension Program Manager lll) of Disability and Survivor Benefits (DaSB), the Pension Program Manager II leads the staff and activities of four teams responsible for complex case review and correction, priority account evaluation and reporting, and benefit payment audits and business process evaluation to identify and mitigate risk to the system. The Pension Program Manager II directs, supervises, and assists subordinate managers and staff with the most complex and highest consequence of error work within the division. The Division is responsible for processing all Disability and Survivor benefit payments, including initial and final payments, continuing allowances, legal, complex benefit adjustments and special production workload projects.

If appointed as a Pension Program Manager II (PPMII), you must meet the minimum qualifications for both the (PPMII) AND the (SSMII) appropriate classification.
