PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) – CAPITAL DISTRICT

“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program).”

The reporting location for this position is Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park located at 2701 L Street in Sacramento.  This position will also work at the State Indian Museum when needed.  This position works u nder the supervision of the Guide II, Historic Monument (Supervisor).

This position requires working evening events, holidays and weekends.  This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.

This position is part of a team that provides quality visitor service and interpretation at Sutter’s Fort and the State Indian Museum. Perform opening and closing procedures for shift location. Perform entrance station or counter work by collecting Museum entrance fees and answering visitor questions via phone or in person relating to State Parks, Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park, State Indian Museum and surrounding areas. Accurately maintain daily admission fee sales and change funds. Accurately account for daily revenues collected and compile daily attendance figures.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)

Working Conditions

Lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to bend, stoop, lift, sit, and stand for long periods of time. Walk distances on uneven surfaces often outside. Working outdoors in the heat under dusty conditions.

Special Requirements
