Marketing Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Specialist to contribute and support our marketing activities. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker who brings an understanding of marketing strategies, excellent communication skills, and strong follow-through skills.The Marketing Specialist role is a key contributor in supporting the development and implementation of marketing, social media, and networking event initiatives for the Bank. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, this role works closely with internal teams to create, execute, and manage marketing strategies that align with the Bank's goals, mission, and core values, all while maintaining the integrity of the Generations Brand.

What does a Marketing Specialist do? The specific duties/responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  1. Manage Daily tasks. Ensures Marketing strategy and execution is connected to help grow the Generations Brand.
  2. Social Media Management. Manages and curates content across the Bank's social media platforms, helping to maintain an active online presence and engagement with the community. Monitors trends and recommends improvements to social media strategies.
  3. Event Coordination. Facilitates planning and execution of marketing events, both in-person and virtual, to support the Bank's visibility and business development efforts. This includes event promotion, logistics, and follow-up activities.
  4. Public Relations Support. Supports the Bank's public relations efforts by coordinating media outreach, maintaining relationships with press contacts, and ensuring the timely distribution of press releases and other media communications.
  5. Business Development Collaboration. Works with cross functional teams to create materials that support lead generation and customer acquisition, ensuring that marketing efforts are aligned with sales goals.
  6. Brand Consistency. Collaborates with internal departments to ensure consistent brand messaging and voice across all marketing materials, ensuring alignment with the Bank's core values and overall marketing strategy.

  • Supports the Bank's goals and values; and benefits the Bank through outside activities.

  • Performs the position safely, without endangering the health or safety to themselves or others and will be expected to report potentially unsafe conditions. The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one's own actions.
  • The position of Marketing Specialist performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

The position of Marketing Specialist is not responsible for the supervision of any employees.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

This full-time, non-exempt position reports to Marketing Manager. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8-5, with occasional overtime hours. The working arrangement is on-site, with some flexibility.

After Hours/Weekends: as a Community Bank, we are committed to serving our community! Accordingly, our employees have an opportunity to participate in events after normal business hours for community outreach activities.

Environment and Physical Activity

The incumbent is in a non-confined office type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The position includes driving a Bank or personal owned vehicle approximately 25-50% of the time which includes exposure to the outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.

The incumbent , while performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.

The incumbent may operate any or all the following: telephone, smart phone, copy machine, adding machine (calculator), scanner and image systems, scanning equipment, computer terminal, laptop, personal computer, tablet, printers, or other office equipment as directed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS you must have these to be considered for the role

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6 or more months of experience in marketing, communications, or related fields (entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply).
  • Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive while performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions and physical demands of the job as listed.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS if you have these you will stand out

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, communication, and editing skills with an ability to create compelling content. Video creation is a plus.
  • Proficient in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) and digital marketing tools.
  • Familiarity with email marketing and campaign management tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for marketing and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (preferred), and Google Analytics (a plus).
