Job Title:  Interior Designer 

Department:  Furniture

Location: Sioux Falls SD

Status:  Full Time / Exempt

Reports To:  Furniture Manager

Essential Functions:

• Discovery:
  1. Work with Account Executives to sell smaller jobs or work as a part of a larger team on bigger, more complex jobs.
  2. Assist Account Executives in appointments and tours
  3. Assist Account Executives as needed with site measurement and inventories
  4. Articulate the benefits of using one product over another.  Be able to apply this knowledge to solve problems.
  5. Budget pricing
  6. Help maintain the design library & stock appropriate tools.  Order samples as necessary.
  7. Build and maintain working relationships with vendors and vendor representatives
  8. Continued education by attending vender updates and CEU’s

• Solutions:
  1. Problem solving through design and product selection 
  2. Design and space planning
  3. Create Customer Presentation using PowerPoint 
  4. Keep open lines of communication with Account Executives to ensure project success
  5. Drawings and product specifications
  6. Finish presentations
  7. Project Renderings
  8. Obtain installation quotes as needed
  9. Navigate contracts to quote the best available pricing to the customer. 

• Selection:
  1. RFP response documentation
  2. Final Pricing
  3. Installation documents
  4. File completed projects

• Team Work: 
  1. Receives work direction from the Design Manager
  2. Openly exchange ideas and opinions with co-workers and ask for help when needed
  3. Work with walk-ins to select furniture. 
  4. Work inventory into furniture proposals whenever possible
  5. Prioritize workload and have a customer first attitude
  6. Maintain a positive attitude and overall communication
  7. Other Duties As Assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2or 4 year Interior Design degree
• 2 years relevant work experience 
• Knowledge and aptitude for computer systems including:
  1. Core
  2. Microsoft Office Products
  3. AutoCad
  4. CET
  5. CAP / Worksheet / 2020
  6. Visual Impressions
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, team environment.
• Work well under pressure and achieve deadlines.
• Have problem solving abilities.
• Ability to record and work with detailed information accurately.
• Have strong persuasive and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate both written and orally.
• Must be reliable and prompt.
• Must be computer literate.
