Grounds Maintenance Laborer- Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, CA

EMI is hiring a Grounds Maintenance Laborer to maintain the grounds of industrial, commercial or public property such as buildings, camp and picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds, greenhouses, and athletic fields. Will occasionally make repairs to structures and equipment. Assistance with project clean-up and carting way of debris is also part of the Ground Maintenance Laborer’s day. The ideal Grounds Maintenance Laborer is experienced in all tools and equipment used in grounds keeping/landscaping and follows all health and safety standards.

Salary

$17.95 /hr. plus $4.57 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities

• Cut grass, trim hedges and edge

  • Walking or riding mowers (less than 2,000 lbs.)

• Plant, prune and water grass, flowers, shrubs and trees

• Repair and paint fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings

  • Assist with road, walks, and building repair

• Clean grounds, comfort stations, offices, workshop areas, and parking lots

  • Pick up and/or cart away leaves, paper or other litter

• Performs other related duties as assigned

Essential Skills

• Knowledge of all trade tools and equipment

  • Ability to select the proper equipment

• Perform complex and unusual tasks without supervision

• Comply with rules and policies, working safely

• Perform in a rapid and efficient manner under extreme conditions

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent amounts of technical training and experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Regular, dependable attendance
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
• U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted
