A boutique hotel in the heart of NoMad is seeking to reconcept its restaurant space and looking for an executive chef with strong leadership experience and an open approach to various culinary styles. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a talented culinary professional. This role requires a blend of creativity, leadership, and business acumen to build and lead a new culinary program from the ground up.

Ideal candidate profile

• Proven experience as an Executive Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine or leader in a kitchen, particularly in a boutique hotel or fine dining establishment: Demonstrating a track record of success in similar environments is crucial.
• Strong leadership and communication skills: The executive chef will be responsible for building, training, and inspiring a new kitchen team and fostering collaboration with front-of-house staff.
• Exceptional creativity and a passion for delivering high-quality dining experiences: The ideal candidate will be a culinary innovator, capable of developing and implementing a menu that aligns with the hotel's vision and attracts a new clientele.
• Diverse knowledge of culinary techniques, flavors, and presentation: An openness to different cuisines and a willingness to explore new culinary trends is highly valued.
• Proficient in inventory management, cost control, and budgeting: The executive chef will play a key role in the restaurant's financial success.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations: Ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards is paramount.

Key responsibilities

• Building and leading a high-performing kitchen team: This includes hiring, training, and mentoring staff, as well as fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Developing and implementing innovative menus: The executive chef will be responsible for defining the restaurant's culinary concept, creating new dishes, and ensuring a seasonal and ingredient-driven approach.
• Overseeing all kitchen operations: This encompasses everything from food preparation and plating to inventory management and adherence to food safety standards.
• Partnering with the General Manager to foster a positive, collaborative work environment: Seamless communication between the kitchen and front-of-house is vital for a successful dining experience.
• Staying updated on culinary and market trends: The executive chef should continuously seek out new product and dish ideas to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
