Court Liaison Full Time Day Shift

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses.  PIW is a 130 bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency.  PIW has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare.  Situated in the safe, historical Tenleytown neighborhood, PIW is one mile from the Tenleytown Metro stop and within walking distance to local cafes and restaurants.

Position Summary: The court liaison is responsible for maintaining tracking and logging all patients who were admitted to the facility involuntarily or whose legal statuses change throughout the course of care. The court liaison manages all legal paperwork and deadlines and collaborates with OAG to ensure timely submissions for filing. The court liaison facilitates private meetings between the patient and their court-appointed attorney and carries out other legal tasks as needed, including providing medical records to attorneys, corresponding with the Department of Behavioral Health, or assisting with participation in court proceedings. The court liaison will also provide administrative support to the Director of Clinical Services, including but not limited to special projects, data tracking, and data entry.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred

One year of experience in the mental health profession preferred.
