Mercy Multiplied CWC in Monroe, Louisiana is hiring a full-time Counselor, and you might be exactly who we are looking for!

Mercy Multiplied exists to provide opportunities for all to experience God’s unconditional love, forgiveness, and life-transforming power. Mercy’s Residential counseling Program is voluntary, biblically-based, and helps young women ages 13–32 break free from life-controlling issues and situations, including anxiety, depression, abuse, eating disorders, self-harm, addictions, unplanned pregnancy, and sex trafficking. These residential services are offered free-of-charge. The Mercy Multiplied Center for Wellness and Counseling is Mercy’s free-of-charge Outpatient counseling Program for men and women aged 13 and older. Our Outreach Services train and resource men and women to effectively support and minister to those who are hurting and struggling through workshops, videos, podcasts, discipleship teaching, and other practical resources.

Job Responsibilities

In the Counselor position, you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

General Counseling Responsibilities for CWC Monroe

• Adhere to best practices in counseling, and legal and ethical requirements within CWC Monroe.
• Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the CWC Counseling Manual.

• Counsel with assigned clients weekly which includes:
  • Leading each client through the Choices that Bring Change.
  • Completing all associated paperwork, including required readings, required assignments.
  • Reviewing as submitted by the client.
• Meet with Counseling Director on a weekly basis.
• Maintain electronic file for each client including counseling notes, confidentiality agreements, releases of information, commitment forms, and all other required forms outlined in the CWC Counseling Manual.
• Ensure that all phone calls and/or electronic communication (emails, text messages, Facebook/social media messages with family members, support people, outside professionals, etc.) are uploaded to the client’s electronic file under Counseling – Document Uploads Touchpoint.
• Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings.
• Complete discharge summary within the required timeframe when a client exits the program.
• Weekly submit praise report and prayer request of client to Counseling Director.

Licensure Responsibilities:

• Maintain proper licensure in your appropriate field by meeting all requirements for providing counseling services within the state of Louisiana.
• Ensure continuous awareness of all state legal and ethical requirements as it relates to the field of counseling and communicate any changes to the Counseling Director.
• Complete continued training that meets or exceeds all state legal and ethical requirements.

Qualifications

Education: Must have a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.  Must be eligible for licensure, e.g., LPC, LMFT.  (Mercy Multiplied is able to provide FREE board-approved supervision to PLPC’s for licensure, if necessary.)
