This role involves providing comprehensive support to the anesthesia team in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, assisting clinicians during procedures, operating specialized equipment, participating in training programs, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the anesthesia department. The position requires evening, weekend, holiday, on-call, and call-back availability.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia, including equipment preparation, monitoring placement, and ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies.
- Communicating with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and other anesthesia technologists.
- Assisting with difficult intubations and central line catheter placement.
- Operating the cell-saver machine and tracking lab reports.
- Participating in various advanced surgical cases (cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, etc.).
- Ensuring anesthesia equipment is in good working order and performing preventive maintenance.
- Setting up and operating sophisticated equipment and performing advanced troubleshooting.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of in-service training programs for staff.
- Performing anesthesia equipment setup and troubleshooting (infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, transport monitors, etc.).
- Setting up rooms between cases and providing full service setup at the end of the day.
- Working with other hospital units to ensure equipment availability.
- Providing backup to the shift supervisor.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- BLS certification.
- Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Four-year college education with related technical training, or a two-year college education with related technical training and two years of experience.
- Certification by the registry of the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body.
Special Considerations:
- Evening shift (1:30 PM 10:30 PM).
- Weekend, holiday, on-call, and call-back responsibilities.
Scheduling:
- The work schedule is evenings (1:30 PM 10:30 PM).
- The position requires working holidays and weekends.
- On-call and call-back duties are also required. Specific scheduling details would be provided by the employer.
