Job Description and Duties

All DGS employees will be required to work in office at their assigned HQ location four (4) days per week and as needed/required in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under the general supervision of an Accounting Administrator II, the Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) independently works as a lead person to provide consultative advice and accounting support to the Accounts Receivable Unit in Contracted Fiscal Services. This position performs tasks that are in compliance with the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) Fl$Cal job aids, State Administrative Manual, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), government codes, Department of Human Resources rules, Management Memorandums, Budget Letters, utilizing Fl$Cal and Microsoft Office Suite.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Professional/State Accounting, FI$Cal System experience, Accounts Receivable experience, Cash Management experience, Create/Update Desk Procedures experience, Possess an in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices and provide technical expertise in governmental accounting, Experience with working on special assignments that require advance analytical thinking, Ability to work independently as well as a team environment.
